School Tour

 We had great fun on our school tour last Wednesday. We got a bus into town.. first stop was the Corrib Princess! It was a wet and windy day but we still enjoyed the boat trip. After we went to the Salthill Playground. When we finished playing we visited the Salthill Aquarium.. it was so cool to see all the fascinating sea creatures! We had the best day. :) 

Visit from the Easter Bunny!

 There was big excitement in class 1A today.. Last night the Easter Bunny visited our classroom and left us yummy treats because we are so good for M. Shauna! He even left us a letter. :) Have a look at our lovely baskets we made. 

Big congratulations to Emma on winning the Easter Raffle that was organised by 6th Class.

Easter Egg Hunt!

 We had an Easter Egg Hunt today! M. Shauna and Aoife hid eggs all around the playground.  Some were really tricky to find! We were super excited when we saw a delicious chocolate egg with our name on it! Check out the photos of our Easter Egg Hunt below...

Science in the Classroom

In Science this month we are learning about different mixtures. We carried out an experiment to see which materials dissolve and which don't dissolve. We mixed sand, sugar, sprinkles, food colouring and cooking oil in water. We discovered that sugar, food colouring and sprinkles dissolve in water. The sand and cooking oil didn't dissolve. It was very messy but very fun!

 

The Book Fair

 Last week we had a Book Fair in the hall. We visited the fair and explored all the wonderful books on display. It was great fun! Have a look at us enjoying our books...

World Book Day

 We celebrated World Book Day on the 4th of March. We dressed up as characters from our favourite books. This month we are focusing on narrative writing... it's great fun being an author! Have a look at a few of our costumes for World Book Day.
